Plan
Use a broken mirror and make it reflect a sunrise and a flute.
Unedited
At first, I tried to take a silhouette of a person playing a flute and then use a mirror to reflect it, but the light outside was already gone and our inside light was not working with how I envisioned my picture, so then I decided to use the mirror with just a flute and no person. I struggled with lighting a lot, but I finally got the picture that I wanted. I took the sunrise pictures right as I was leaving my house because there were finally some very vibrant colors in the sky.
Edited
First, I edited my sunrise pictures in lightroom and turned the saturation up on the red, orange, and purple colors. I also used the dehaze tool and turned the luminance up. I also edited the broken mirror picture in lightroom because there was a pink tint to the picture, so I took that color out and cropped the picture as well. After the pictures looked like how I wanted them to, I moved my pictures into lightroom and layered the sunrise on top of the mirror. I then used the eraser tool in order to have the broken cracks and flutes show through.
Final
This is a picture of a sunrise and two flutes reflected in a broken mirror. In order to get two different sized flutes, I used a real one and a christmas tree ornament. The orange, red, and purple colored sunset is in the background and the flutes and cracks in the mirror are in the foreground. I really like how the bright colors of the background contrast with the black and white in the foreground. Sunrises are usually precieved as happy and broken mirrors as the opposite, and the color contrast creates a further feeling of two clashing ideas. There are both happy and sad feelings when you look at this photo. I really like this photo because there is so much to look at and think about.
